The former NBA player chose for those who feel they are the most important player with the Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets continued their exciting playoff run with a 113-104 victory in overtime against the OKC Thunder.
Jamal Murray led the scorer with 27 points in the evening, but Nicola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. also stepped up to join with 63 points.
The Thunder took a three-point lead with just 29 seconds left, but Gordon stepped up and hit the arc to tie the score.
This was just one of many clutch plays Gordon had in his Nuggets career.
Following the Nuggets’ victory, former Miami Heat player Udonis Haslem praised Gordon, offering flowers to the impact he had on the team, calling back to the 2023 NBA Finals.
Gordon was a great Nuggets postseason run, averaging 18.6 ppg and shooting 41% from the 3-point range.
Adelman praised Gordon after a dunk that won a first-round game three match against the LA Clippers.
Since then, he has had several more Clutch plays that have helped the Nuggets significantly.
Speaking of Gordon, Haslem said:
“He is the finalist where we had no answers.
“They put that baseline and he’s working that dunker spot. If he step into the Joker, he’s LOVE that ball to him and fire the ball with a 55% clip from the 3-point range.
“Usually people want to give him that shot, but he’s doing that shot now. And he’s going to do that challenge against your best offensive player and make sure he shuts them down and puts him in the box and makes it work.”
Haslem confirmed that Jokic was the best player for the Nuggets and that the team needed three MVPs to win, but Gordon was the player who made things work in the 2023 NBA champion.
Gordon was taken to the Nuggets in 2021 to become a role player for the team.
This would have been tough for everyone, considering Gordon was an Orlando magic star.
However, the 29-year-old took on the role with open arms and was then an important part of the franchise.
Gordon can do everything offensively, but what makes him special is how the elite are on the defensive side.
Every night he protects the best players in the opposition team, making it difficult for them with his physicality and athleticism.
Gordon vowed to help Russell Westbrook win the ring, and he confronted that promise and put on an elite performance in the playoffs.
He was particularly great beyond the series arc against Thunder, shooting 55% from the 3-point range.
As he continued to play in his way, the Nuggets defeated the Thunder and managed to advance to their second meeting final three years later.
