Middleweight veterans Michael Olexijejuk and Gerald Meerschart are set for UFC 319, with MMA fighting confirmed after Olexijejuk’s team combat announced the match on social media.
The pay-per-view card will take place on August 16th at United Center in Chicago.
Oleksiejczuk (20-9, 1 NC) will try to keep up the momentum after snapping Sedriques Dumas three-losed skids in April with his first round knockout.
Polish talent began his UFC career as a light heavyweight and reduced it to 185 pounds before going 4-4. All of his middleweight victory came from first-round knockouts against Sam Albey, Cody Brandage, Chidi Njokuani and Dumas.
Meerschaert (37-19) rebounded to Reinier de Ridder and Brad Tavares from a back-to-back defeat, dropping the promotional record to 12-11.
The 37-year-old veteran holds a record for most stops in the 12 o’clock UFC middleweight history, including a 100% octagon and a 100% final speed of 100% and a single knockout. Meerschaert’s victim list includes Bryan Barbena, Edmen Shahbazyan and Bruno Silva.
UFC 319 is headlined by middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis defending the title against undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.
