Kamal Usman has finally returned to his cage.
On Friday, the UFC announced that USMAN will surge welterweight candidate Joaquin Buckley in the main event of UFC Atlanta, which will be down at State Farm Arena on June 14th.
Usman (20-4) is a former welterweight champion who won the title from 2019 to 2021, recording five defenses. However, “Nigerian Nightmare” is currently losing three matches and has not competed since losing to Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 294 after accepting the match in the middleweight division in a short period of time.
Buckley (21-6) has won six in a row since returning to Welterweight Division in 2023. More recently, Buckley finished former interim champion Colby Covington in the main event at UFC Tampa in December.
A women’s flyweight match between previously announced two-time strawweight champion Rosena Majunas (13-7) and 12th place contender Miranda Maverick (15-5) will serve as the co-headliner.
This was the UFC’s fifth trip to Atlanta and the first fight night event, with all four previous visits being a pay-per-view show.
