Reinier de Ridder may have been in the co-main event at UFC Des Moines, but he won his biggest victory on Saturday after knocking off highly promoted prospect Bo Nickal.
Following the first UFC event in Iowa in 25 years, the promotion ultimately handed NICKAL an extra $50,000 performance to De Ridder after an astonishing upset.
The victory moved De Ridder 3-0 in the UFC, knocking out Nickal to earn his first postwar bonus.
UFC Des Moines main event winner Corey Sandhagen won another $50,000 after securing a comeback during the grappling exchange.
The replay showed Sandhagen sitting in the perfect position to lock down the figure eaves, and the Brazilian quickly felt pain when he tapped out to finish the fight.
Quan Le will also return home with a $50,000 bonus after winning a rear choke submission via Gaston Bolanos in qualifying.
The final bonus was sent to Azamato Bekoyev after moving 2-0 in the UFC with his second straight stoppage victory. This time, Bekoev delivered a vicious right hook, followed by a punch to the ground, finishing TUF winner Ryan Loder in the first round.
