UFC signs Aaron Pico after PFL exit

Aaron Pico has signed with the UFC.

The former Bellator standout Pico (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) spent the last few months campaigning for a full release from the PFL, allowing him to go to the Octagon. He is now confirmed at MMA Junkie on Tuesday by his manager Ali Abdelaziz, who was confirmed at MMA Junkie on Tuesday after an initial report by ESPN.

At 28, Pico has long been a genius in combat sports. Before he stepped into the MMA cage, Pico had a resume of decorated achievements. With many national and international wrestling competitions, Pico was Golden Globe Boxing and Pal Champion.

The expected MMA debut in June 2017 was a 24-second submission loss to Zach Freeman. Despite stumbling early in the bright light, Pico rebounded with four consecutive brutal knockouts before ending in Henry Corrales’ wild events. The loss to Adam Bolix brought him back further.

However, after Borik’s loss, Pico turned the corner. He won nine out of ten fights, winning the only loss suffered by a shoulder injury against Jeremy Kennedy.

Pico will enter the UFC with a three-game winning streak consisting of victory over James Gonzalez, Pedro Carvalho and Corrales. He will try to shake up the 145 pound title photo with the first octagonal look. It is unclear when his debut will be. The Americans have not competed since Corrales’ first round TKO in February 2024, and have not played two professional matches in the past two years.
