Chael Sonnen is tired of UFC fighters sharing details of their injuries.
Recently, the injury bug reportedly affected a fight for another title that has not yet been announced. It is a clash between middleweight champions Dorikas Duplesis and Kamza Chimayev during his reign. No official was done, but rumors swirled that the two would compete at UFC 317 on June 28th during the international battle for promotion.
However, it does not seem to be the case. According to a report by Kevin Iole, Du Plessis will not be able to compete in the event due to injury. Chimaev later commented on the situation, writing to X, “This guy is the biggest burs*t.”
So far, Du Plessis has not revealed details of the suspected injuries, and “American gangs” hope that it will remain the same.
“Now he said the outcome of the presidential election can determine his travel capabilities,” Sonnen said in a video on his YouTube channel. “But he didn’t say anything since the day he said it and after we got the news that it was said that the fight was planned right now, he fell into smoke.
So, Doricus du Plessis, by the way, I really hope he doesn’t tell me what’s wrong with him. For example, I’m very tired of fighters using the internet as an excuse to get out of something. Hey, look, here’s an x-ray, it must be mine as I put it on social media. So I completely justify getting out of one job that I’m asked to do three times a year.
“It’s not our business. So far, Doricus hasn’t told us what it is. I hope now that Doricus isn’t continuing to teach us what it is.
Will “DDP” be released and Chimaev vs. Borralho be seen in the provisional UFC middleweight title?
The severity of Du Plessis’ injury could ultimately decide whether the UFC would choose to introduce a temporary title for Chimev to fight before the “DDP” returns.
If that’s the route the promotion plans to take, one fighter has already volunteered as a compliment.
“I Know a Man @UFC” No. 6 was written by middleweight candidate Caio Borralho for X. “You know who to call.”
Boralho later added that Chimaev would accept the challenge and that their fight would be even greater than the original plan for the promotion.
