Jean Silva argues why it should be the next thing UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovsky.
Silva (16-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) He remained unbeaten in the Octagon when he ran through Blythe Mitchell for a round two submission at UFC 314 in Miami last Saturday. With the victory, the Fighting Geek made her debut in the UFC featherweight rankings at No. 11.
Silva utilized the X to explain his case for a shot at newly crowned featherweight champion Volkanovsky (27-5 MMA, 14-4 UFC).
“I don’t think anyone will give me anything,” Silva said. “If it’s not a title shot, it’s better to be a fight that puts me there. But let’s look at the facts: Volk said he wants to stay active and face the best in the division. I’ve already proven that he deserves it, and Diego Lopez won the title shot with five wins and one loss.
“I faced the biggest knockout artist on Lightweight and knocked him out. I took on one of the best grapplers in the department and made him submit. I hit a guy who never knocked him out and I knocked him out. I also knocked him out. Shelby.
Silva was also excavated at the Frontrunner Movsar Evloev, which Volkanovski mentioned as a possibility around the time of UFC 314.
