Daniel Cormier is superior on Chael Sonnen at the end The ultimate fighter 33 Quarter-finals.
On this week’s episode, Colmier locked the lead into his coaching rival as his No. 1 welterweight pick Rodrigo Sezinand defeated Sonnen’s Pick Diego Biankini by decision. The match is one of the most anticipated of the season, and Sezinand and Biankini have been shown to share a lot of bad blood from the moment they step in tuf house.
That hostility became apparent early in Round 1, when Biankini threw a spinning kick to let Sezinand head off, replied that Sezinand was a wild hayman. Neither of them achieved much success, but Sezinand scored on several trips to confuse Biankini. Sezinand will also close the opening round and likely go 10-9 on the scorecard.
Round 2 was much easier to judge as Sezinand tripped Biankini on the mat. This time, he made effective use of the black belt of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, pinching Bianchini and working in heavy grinding. The attack lasted almost four minutes as bloody Biankini couldn’t get out from under Sezinand.
Shortly after the buzzer was heard, Sejinand was declared the winner of the two-round contest.
Cormier finished the quarterfinals 5-3 in a coaching matchup with Sonnen, sending three welterweights and two flyweights to the semifinals. The coach spoke individually with the Fighters to decide on their next matchup decision. Here is:
