Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the future of his 40 year old, Manchester United has identified a “incredible” manager as his first choice target to replace Reuben Amorim.
Despite improved results, Amorim has not left the forest
Fan Frank Illett, who has vowed not to cut his hair until Man United wins five consecutive games, is probably not yet able to get hope, but Amorim has brought some improvements in the last few weeks, winning two of his final three Premier League games.
On paper, fixtures look relatively kind until late October. The Red Devils played Sunderland at Old Trafford the following week before pulling away from Brentford this Saturday, giving Amorim the perfect opportunity to buy a little more time.
However, the United boss will know well that things have to begin to improve given that he is now considered one of the worst appointments since Ireland Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
It is revealed that Man United Hierarchy began planning life after Amorim. TeamTalk’s report revealed that Andoni Iraola, manager of AFC Bournemouth, is the number one option to replace Portuguese coaches.
One of Europe’s most popular managers, Iraora has been closely monitored by the Red Devils, who have changed Bournemouth property since replacing Gary O’Neill in the summer of 2023.
Ineos is said to view Spaniards with the ability to manage top clubs as elite coaches, and they were impressed by the way he implemented his system at the Vitality Stadium.
“Incredible” Iraaura could be the perfect Amorim alternative
Sky Sports’ Sue Smith got lyrical about the work the 43-year-old did with Cherries earlier this year, describing the work he did as “incredible.”
The Bournemouth boss, who likes to implement the 4-2-3-1 system, led his team to a ninth place finish in the Premier League last season, and he took off to a new campaign.
Despite losing many key players in the summer, including Dean Huysen, Ilya Zabarni, Milos Kerquez and Dango Oattara, Cherry scored 10 points from the opening five games.
Now, Iraora, who has proven himself over a sustained period in the Premier League, could be an ideal replacement for Amorim, but after winning two wins in the last three league games, it appears that Ineo will give his current manager a little longer.
