Chelsea couldn’t hide their frustration from Nicholas Jackson after a slightly strange moment against Fulminence last night by attacking midfielder Cole Palmer.
The Bruce booked their place in the Club World Cup final after a 2-0 victory over Fulminence, but there was a moment when Jackson ruined a big opportunity.
The Senegalese striker had Palmer open wide with him in the penalty area, but instead decided to go to the finish line from a difficult angle.
Jackson’s decisions were inadequate, and Chelsea missed the chance to close the game, and Palmer responded to his teammates, screaming at him, kicking the goal post…
He almost looks like a cool character on the pitch, so you don’t often see Palmer being this animated, but this clearly brings him up.
How bad was this a game for Nicholas Jackson?
Overall, this was a bad night as Jackson not only struggled with him, but Joan Pedro had an immediate impact in advance and had to look from the bench.
The Brazilian forward had made his Chelsea debut after a recent entry from Brighton. He scored two great goals and gave the team victory here for Enzo Maresca.
Afterwards, seeing Jackson make such a blunt instrument makes it understand why Chelsea signed Pedro.
Pedro and Delap could lead Jackson to the Chelsea exit
Jackson looked like a decent prospect when he first arrived at Stamford Bridge, but it’s safe to say he wasn’t developing as much as many wanted.
Chelsea have signed not only Pedro but Liam Dellup this summer, so it’s hard to see Maresca find many opportunities for Jackson.
The CFC is already planning to remove the 24-year-old child, meaning that two strong-looking alternatives have already concluded.
