Ricardo Calafioli scored the first goal of Arsenal’s new Premier League season and headed home from Declan Rice Corner against Manchester United.
However, Italian International got a lot of help from Man UTD goalkeeper Altai Bayindeal, who was completely unconvincing from the US corner.
Karafiori attacked at a distant post, so please see below.
Calafiori didn’t necessarily start the game after Miles Lewis Skelly’s huge form at left back last season, but he’s doing well to quickly influence Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal leads early, but can they hold United three points apart?
Arsenal only got the start they wanted, but the game isn’t over as United also looked dangerous in the first few minutes.
Gunners are often a threat from the pieces on the set, and Bay Indeal looks a bit nervous at the finish line, starting off for Andre Onana, who is not yet fully fitted.
This is a good start for Arsenal to build, but there’s still a long way to go and their record to Man UTD is not the best.
It will be interesting to see what kind of reaction we see from today’s Reuben Amorim’s side, but for now it appears to be more frustrating to Portuguese tacticians.
Amorim got off to a disastrous start at MUFC last season, but many are looking forward to more from them after a full season and some new signings.
Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are both on the team, but they haven’t yet had the impact Amorim and the club’s fans were looking for.
