The Delhi Premier League was launched in 2024 and marked the start of a tournament featuring several players from the Delhi Cricket Association. Several talents who played in the Delhi Premier League have been promoted to the Indian Premier League after strong performances in the DPL.
The second season of DPL will take place this year in 2025, with its auction scheduled to take place on July 5th. DPL 2025 grabbed the headline as two legendary Indian families have registered for auction.
Indian veteran Virat Kohli’s ne Aaryaveer Kohli is part of the first draft of the second season of the DPL. But like his uncle Virat Kohli, a great batsman, the 15-year-old Aaryaveer is a leg spinner who trains under Virat’s childhood friend coach Raj Kumar Sharma. He is drafted in Category C, registered with Delhi players under the age of 16.

Meanwhile, two other players drafted on the auction list include Aaryavir, a 17-year-old batsman son of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, and 15-year-old Vedant. It is registered in Category B, including Delhi Board U-19 players.
Virat Kohli’s record in first class cricket
Virat Kohli has a great record in first class cricket as batters are known to have exquisite records in the longest form of the game. He played in 123 Test matches in India, but throughout his first-class career, he starred in 156 matches.
Right-handed great Virat Kohli scored 11,485 runs in his first class career as 3,700 people under his belt averaged a record 48.05. He has a 254* as the best score on the bat as a bat veteran.
Apart from appearing in India, Virat Kohli has appeared in Delhi with Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy and Duleep Trophy, playing 27 matches.
Virender Sehwag’s record in first class cricket
Virender Sehwag played in Test format in both the country’s top games in India and in Delhi on Team India. A former Indian opener who appeared on the Indian test side from 2001 to 2013.
Sehwag played in 104 Test matches, but his career consists of 8,586 runs, averaging nearly 49.34. The batter with the explosive opening revolutionized Test cricket as the batter scored hundreds of 23 Tests.
Even in his first class career, he scored 14,683 great runs averaged 47.36 in 194 Test matches, winning 4200 for his name, combining domestic and international statistics in red-ball format.
Great talent in Delhi Premier League 2024
The Delhi Premier League recorded its first season in 2024. This found a unique talent that became prominent after the successful tournament.
Something like Priyansh Arya, a dynamic left-handed opener who had a swash-back ring effect on the Punjab King when he defeated 475 runs in competitions in his debut season, is a product of DPL. He gained recognition after hitting six sixes in the Delhi Premier League.
Left-arm spinner Digvesh Rathi also became prominent in the DPL, but he starred in the IPL for Lucknow’s Super Giants and chose 14 wickets for the IPL debut season.
