Spaten Fight Night officially announced the Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva Boxing Match as headliner for upcoming cards to be held at Sao Paulo in Brazil on September 27th, revealing additional details about the match.
Unlike the main event of the first show in 2024, it became an exhibition boxing contest with no winners between Anderson Silva and Chaleson Nen. This promotion guarantees that Belfort vs. Silva will become a reality.
The UFC Hall of Fame inductee wore 12 ounces of gloves in the eight-round match and the fight was contested at 205 pounds in the two-minute round, Spaten announced Wednesday. The event will be aired live for free on Globo, Brazil.
“The rivalry between Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva is one of the biggest in the martial arts world and a rematch that has never happened before, so we decided to make it a reality in the second edition of Spaten Fight Night.”
Silva made his boxing debut that night, and for seven years he was removed from his latest MMA match at Bellator. Belfort said goodbye to the UFC and competed twice in boxing, beating Evander Hollyfield and Ronaldo “Jaccare” Sousa.
Spaten Fight Night has yet to announce any additional matches to the card. The first edition featured the MMA debut of Jiu-Jitsu legend and future LFA bantamweight champion Bia Mesquita, as well as the boxing showdown of Olympian Hebert Consense and Esquiba Falcao.
