Team India cricketers Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar gave laughs to fans in the third and final ODI against Australia. Rana and Sundar were unable to stop the bowling of left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, but a video of their attempt gained attention on social media.
India captain Shubman Gill lost his third consecutive toss in the series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney on Saturday, October 25. The visiting team made two changes to their line-up, fielding Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav in place of dead rubber Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh.

Washington Sundar and Harshit Rana collided while trying to stop the ball from the boundary line. The incident occurred on the second ball of the 17th over of Australia’s innings.

Sundar skated by the ropes from deep midwicket while Rana approached from deep backward square leg. The two players collided and the ball hit Sander’s body near the boundary.
A television umpire reviewed the incident to determine whether the ball or fielder touched the ropes. Despite their best efforts, the ball crossed the boundary line and they conceded four goals.

Washington Sundar dismiss Matthew Short, Virat Kohli takes sharp catch
Harshit Rana shared the new ball with Mohammed Siraj in the absence of Arshdeep Singh. KKR’s fast bowlers failed to pick up a wicket in their first spell, conceding 21 runs in four overs. He took two wickets in the first two matches at an average of 53.50 and an economy rate of 6.69.
Meanwhile, Washington Sundar manager fired Matthew Short, who scored 30 points on 41 pitches. Virat Kohli took a sharp catch to send Australia’s number three back to the dressing room. Thunder have picked up four wickets so far in the series, averaging just over 15 wickets.
Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj strike to help India defeat Australia in opener
Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel dismissed Australian openers Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh in the third ODI. Siraj made the first breakthrough by removing Travis Head for 29, while Axar dismissed Mitchell Marsh, helping India gain an early advantage.
At the time of writing, Australia were 124/3 after 23 overs with Matt Renshaw and Alex Carey near the crease. The visitors already lead the three-match series 2-0, having lost the first two ODIs by seven wickets (DLS format) and two wickets.
Australia will be looking to win their second consecutive home series against India, their first since a 2-1 win in the 2020/21 season. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill, who took over from Rohit Sharma early in the series, is still aiming for his first ODI win as India’s new captain.
