The highly anticipated matchup between Hollyholm vs Kaera Harrison at the UFC 300 was the Titans’ clash in the women’s bantamweight division. Former UFC bantamweight champion and boxer Holly Holm could not rival PFL champion and Olympic judo Kaila Harrison.

Holm is a force in both boxing and MMA, winning the UFC title in 2015 to defeat Ronda Rousey and is a participant in Boxing Hall of Fame. On the other side of the octagon was Kela Harrison, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo and the dominant force of the PFL. Harrison made his UFC debut at the UFC 300. It was a crucial moment in my career when I moved from the PFL lightweight division to Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison to the UFC bantamweight class.

In Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison, the Judo Star ruled Holm from the start, using his judo skills to repeatedly defeat Holm and control the ground game. In the second round, Harrison secured a naked choke in the rear and forced Holm to submit it. American-born Holm chose to clinch alongside Olympic judo medalists, playing the strength of his opponents and making important mistakes. The victory marked Harrison’s successful UFC debut, positioning her as a strong contender for the competitive bantamweight division.

Kayla Harrison’s latest UFC fight took on Ketlen Vieira on October 5, 2024 at UFC 307. There are rumours that Harrison could face Juliana Pena next due to the UFC women’s bantamweight title.

However, if Pena is unavailable due to health issues or other commitments, Harrison could face another opponent due to his interim title. Harrison’s manager Ali Abderaziz has suggested that Raquel Pennington could be an alternative opponent, expressing his confidence that Harrison will become the UFC champion in 2025.
