Rishabh Pant falls in half a century
India’s vice-captain, Rishabhupant, gave a brave knock in the fourth Test match against England. He suffered a leg injury on the first day before retiring and realising it was a fracture.
The BCCI announced that a broken pants leg will remove him from the next Test match of Anderson Tendurkal 2025, and that he will only be hit in the Manchester Test if necessary, and that Dhruv Jurel is fulfilling his wicket keeping obligations.
Pants arrived at Old Trafford in Manchester for the second day of the game and stepped into the bat despite his injuries after the fire of all-arounders Chardur Thakur. He was praised by the crowd for his movement as the audience gave him a standing ovation.
The pants were initially played in the middle and had scuffs when they missed some delivery, but after getting the set he hit brilliantly and took the English bowler to the cleaner
Rishabh Pant was clearly uncomfortable in the middle, but he continued his score before falling to 113th bowled by Jofra Archer.
On the third ball in the 113th, Jofra Archer bowled an absolute juffer from around a wicket that had landed quite long before passing the bat and destroying the stump. Ball sent a stump before replanting the cart wheel.
Pants came out after scoring 54 runs with three four balls and two sixes. He returned to a standing ovation from the crowd at Old Trafford.
