South African national cricket team wicketkeeper batter Ryan Rickelton grabbed an absolutely astounding second Atanepto catch to dismiss the modern batting Great Joe route of the English national cricket team at the ODI series opener.

After his firing, Joe Root arrived in the middle and began the innings with an absolutely gorgeous cover drive. England needed modern batting to make a big knock, but he couldn’t do it.
Joe Root scored 14 runs from 17 balls on three boundaries, coming out eighth and bowled by right-handed Quick Rangidi.
On the third ball in the overs, Lungi Ngidi bowled slightly more fully than a good length delivery to Joe Root. The ball was shaped after pitching, and Root tried to play with it, but was able to edge it behind the stump.
As the ball flew towards Ryan Rickelton, he jumped low to the right and grabbed the ball with one hand. However, the ball leapt out of his hand, but Ryan Rickelton showed a quick reflection, and was able to grab it and send the batter’s packaging.

The wicket looks at the dry side so you may get a little dew – Temba bavuma
Speaking on Toss, Temba Bavuma of Proteas Skipper said he was trying to play Xi with ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 in mind. He explained in detail:
“We bowl first. The wicket might look at the dry side and get a little dew. The statistics suggest that tracking here is better. We have a new pair for Rickelton and Aiden. Cricket.”
Meanwhile, British skipper Harry Brook said it’s difficult to keep his score in Leeds, but they’re heading for the challenge. He said:
“We’d also bowled first. We’ll try to set up for both batting and bowling, but today we were bowling. I know this ground very well and it’s hard to protect. A really exciting night for Sony (Baker) – he was really excited to see what we could offer.
