I remember having a conversation with my brother – Sachin Tendulkar
Tendulkar said it was a difficult time after India’s early exit from the 2007 World Cup, adding that he even considered retiring from the game. He recalls an emotional conversation with his younger brother. He urged him to continue his vision of lifting the World Cup in 2011 at home soil.
“When I returned from the West Indies in 2007, there were a lot of thoughts coming up: was it time to follow or move aside?
“My brother said, ‘In 2011, the World Cup will be held in India and the final will be held in Mumbai at Wankhed Stadium. Can you imagine yourself taking the victory lap with this trophy?” That’s where the journey began again.
