Exeter City will benefit from Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League thanks to the terms of Ethan Ampadu’s contract.
Leeds United are back on top English flights. They are the top of the championship and have played in just three games. They are at the level at Burnley points in second place, but they have a great goal difference.
The West Yorkshire outfit has a 5-point cushion than third-placed Sheffield United. This suggests that there is indeed a guarantee that he will return to the Premier League. According to a report by Mot Leeds News, the return of Leeds United could benefit the English third tier costume Exeter City, as the terms of former star Ethan Ampadu’s contract could bring financial benefits.
Exeter CEO Joe Gorma revealed through Mot Leeds News while talking to Bizof Sport.
Ampadu was part of the Exeter City Youth setup before joining Chelsea in the summer of 2017. He said goodbye to them to join Leeds United in the summer of 2023.
Ethan Ampadu did well for Leeds
The 24-year-old has established himself as a key figure on the team. He was given the captain’s armband, which is behind his impressive performance and leadership skills. He prefers to play as a defensive midfielder, but Ampadu has appeared as a fullback and centre back for Leeds United over the past two seasons.
He may have missed a fair number of equipment this season due to injuries, but he certainly played his part in the dominant run in the Championship. As the club is set up to secure returns, Exeter will receive a decent fee, thanks to the terms included in the Ampadu deal when it departs for Chelsea in 2017.
It remains uncertain whether the payments are from Leeds United or Chelsea, but Goma has revealed that performance/promotion-related add-ons will only halt if they end up ensuring free transfers in the future
