This summer looks like another important thing for West Ham, who wants to bounce back from the disappointment of this season. But before they add players to Graham Potter’s team, they may need to stoop away stars who are not expected to enter next season.
And one player in this category is Guido Rodriguez. The World Cup winner arrived at London Stadium before the start of this season after completing his contract with Real Betis.
Rodriguez has made just 21 appearances for West Ham this season, and his final start dates back to January (Crystal Palace). It is clear that Potter is not dependent on him, and therefore he is asked to leave.
West Ham hopes to remove Guido Rodriguez this summer
Over the past few weeks, Rodriguez has been linked to his return to Argentina. Riverplate is said to be keen on him, and West Ham will be desperate to get the deal done, according to information a club source told Claret & Hugh.
“We’ve heard Zero, but it’s great because he’s not adapting to the Premier League. All we saw is the reports you saw, but the fingers crossed.”
It was certainly a disappointing season for Rodriguez. Rodriguez was unable to adapt his game to the Premier League. He feels inevitable that he will leave West Ham, where he longs to withdraw wages from his books.
There’s no doubt that Rodriguez saw more homes in Laliga. Over the past few weeks he has also been linked to his return to Betis. It is still unknown whether that will happen or not, but West Ham is unlikely to require a large transfer fee, so whether in Spain or Argentina, he could return to his familiar environment.
