West Ham could lose Mohamed Kudus this summer amid a strong interest in Ghana’s services, and potential replacements have now been identified by club staff at London Stadium.
Recently, West Ham declined a £50 million offer from Chelsea in Kudus, but Tottenham is said to be lining up the 24-year-old’s moves with five goals and four assists in all competitions left for the 2024-25 season.
Cadus is expected to be allowed to leave West Ham if the rating is met, and substitutions are being considered in preparation for this.
West Ham lines up Omali Hutchinson as a replacement for Kudus
And one of them is Ipswich’s Omari Hutchinson, as former scout Mick Brown told Soccer Insider.
“West Ham was looking at Omali Hutchinson. The scouts were looking at him for the England Under-21. I hear they were impressed by what they saw.
“He’s certainly a talented player and has a bit of something about him. In my opinion, he’s still a bit born and needs to be more consistent to actually do it at the top level. But West Ham knows the positives and the negatives and will come to a conclusion as to whether he’s the right person for them.
“If they lose Kudus, if they appear to need to replace him, Hutchinson is considered an ideal clause for that role. He has this release clause in the Ipswich deal.
Hutchinson is likely keen to stay in the Premier League following Ipswich’s relegation, and this could be a result of his move to West Ham. It remains to be seen whether their interest will be stepping up in the coming weeks.
