Although it doesn’t take a week for the transfer window to close, West Ham United still has a lot to do.
Graham Potter’s side has made some exciting signs this summer, like Elle Haji Malik Diouf and Kyle Walker Peter, but as the last few games have shown, they need a lot more.
Additionally, he was ultimately overwhelmed during the club, but Edson Alvarez is currently in Türkiye.
Luckily they appear to be trapped in the contract of Soungoutou Magassa. If the report should be trusted, they are making a move to bring in someone who will be even better signings.
West Ham United are targeting better signatures than Magassa
Interest in Magassa could go back further, but reports of West Ham’s desire to sign later last week began to emerge.
Impressively, Hammer took medical at the club yesterday and moved extraordinarily quickly to secure service for AS Monaco Ace, as it could be announced by the end of this week.
The 21-year-old looks like he’s going to be a great addition to the Potter team, but now it appears that East Londoners are moving to new targets, including people who are already better than Magassa.
At least that’s what Graeme Bailey says West Ham is interested in Exal Palacios.
In fact, the journalists have revealed that Iron is in contact with Bayer Lebakusen to discuss an already incredible deal with Argentina.
Interestingly, it’s not clear how much a weekly ace costs, but the report says he could lend it to and use, making him an even more attractive prospect.
Overcoming the line may still be a complicated deal, but Palacios is worth it, especially as he is better than Magassa.
How to compare Palacio with Magus
This summer, we need to make it clear that both Magassa and Palacios are excellent signatures for West Ham, but there are a few reasons why the latter is a little better.
The first is his impressive experience. At 26, he has spent much more time playing at the highest level and surpassing that.
For example, the Famaira-born Maestro made 160 appearances for Lebakusen, appeared in 87 at the River Plate, and won 36 senior caps for Argentina.
Additionally, he has a truly spectacular trophy cabinet, including the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, two Argentine Cups, Copari Bertadore, two Copa America titles and the World Cup.
In contrast, the 21-year-old Monaco star only has an Olympic silver medal in his name, which may change in time, but he cannot bring the same winning experience to London Stadium.
The second and undoubtedly most meaningful reason is that I think the star of Leberkusen is a better signature this summer, so if we look at the numbers that are based on them, he will be at the top of the most relevant statistics.
These metrics include things like what was expected and actual non-comprehensive goals, as well as assists, key passes, shots, goal-making actions, accuracy, and more.

In other words, he may not be as defensively solid as the Frenchman, but the “BoxCrash” Leverkusen star, dubbed by analyst Ben Matinson, is a midfielder of all actions that are as scoring threats as creative threats.
Ultimately, West Ham should sign both Magassa and Palacios to give him the best chance to make this season a success. But for our money, the latter would be two better additions.
