Manchester United legend Gary Neville says Noni Madueke has looked like “a different player” since leaving Chelsea for Arsenal this summer.
England International did not discover the world accurately during his time at Stamford Bridge. It was a bit surprising that Arsenal began signing him.
At the time, there were anti-Madueke petitions from several gunner fans, and Neville admits that he can understand why Chelsea is open to selling him.
Still, Madueke has started brightly for Arsenal and is also shining in England, where he won 5-0 in Serbia this week.
Neville was impressed as he discussed the 23-year-old in this week’s episode of overlap, to say the least.
Noni Maduce has been impressed since joining Arsenal
Neville picked out Madueke and admitted that he was surprised by his shape on Mikel Arteta’s side, asking Ian Wright about his long-term role on the team.
“I ask about Maduce because when Arsenal signs him, I see him play quite a bit for Chelsea, I’ll be honest with you.
“I tell you – what a different player in the Arsenal and England games in the last few weeks.”
What is Madueke’s best position?
Neville went on to ask Wright if he felt that Maduce would play on the right or left, primarily for Arsenal.
The former male UTD defender was very impressed with what he saw from the former Chelsea man on the right side of England, but Bukayosaka’s presence in that position could be a problem for him at Arsenal.
Wright pointed out that it’s good for Arsenal to compete on that side, but also imagines that it gives Arteta much needed depth to other aspects.
Eberechi Eze will join the AFC this summer and will be able to play on the left, but he will give Maduke two positions that can provide depth as he may get a chance at center.
