Anthony Edwards has a clear message to his teammates as the Minnesota Timberwolves are a huge underdog with the Los Angeles Lakers.
After arriving in the Western Conference Finals last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves broke up with superstar Karl Anthony Towns in the summer.
Trading Town had a prolonged impact on the Timberwolves’ performance during the regular season. Additionally, this called for Anthony Edwards to evolve his game and step up as a leader.
Edwards took the time to adjust to this new role, but he appears to be ready to lead the team ahead of the opening round matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Lakers.
There is no doubt that the La Lakers are considered a heavy favorite to win a first-round series against The Timberwolves.
In fact, most experts believe it could be a simple series for purple and gold. It takes a phenomenal performance from Edwards to prove his critics wrong.
As a result, it’s no surprise that Edwards was described as “intense” in a real session with teammate Nikkele Alexander Walker.
“It’s intense. I’m motivated. I’m determined. I can see that he really imposes his leadership and has the guys involved.
“I think it is important to have a mindset that we are all ready and ready, and his preparation has always been his preparation, not rising or falling, he is very consistent with it.
“What he really, really steps up is ensuring he’s as a leader and a teammate.”
All eyes lie in his long-awaited matchup between Edwards and LeBron James. However, Ant only knows him and cannot win a Timberwolves series.
Returning to the post-practice interview with Alexander Walker, the Timberwolves Guard further revealed the selfless acts that Edwards had recently done.
“He took that step with a bit humility.
“He’s going to be aggressive, he’s going to be an Ali, that’s not a doubt, but we’ll make sure everyone is with him.
“We’ll come and pick up each other and it’ll be huge, especially when we start a series on the road.”
Edwards averaged 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in the regular season, but we know it’s impossible to beat the Lakers without the support of our teammates.
