But that was far from the biggest surprise.
To create a room for an active roster and a 40-person roster, the team assigns and designates veteran catcher Austin Burns.

The longest-adored position player, Burns spent 11 years with Los Angeles and an entire MLB career. He won two World Series with his team and caught the Finals in 2020.
This move makes the clear. The only thing that matters to this ball club is victory.
That being said, the move places great pressure on the few other players on the ‘ active roster.

First and foremost, the pressure is now at left-handed hit outfielder Michael Comfort. Rushing’s main position is the catcher, but the have also used him on the left field even in his time in the minor leagues. Rushing is also a left-handed batsman who can play in the outfield, particularly on the left field.
Another player currently under pressure is Christaylor. This season, the new long-decorated position player appeared in just 26 games, playing in a total of 32 plates. He’s hitting .219 with an OPS of .500.
Taylor is on a contract until the end of this year. If the team feels he’s not helping them win the game like Burns does, they may not hesitate to pull the plug of the 12-year veteran.
Finally, the move puts more pressure on James Outman, another left-handed antagonist who struggles to prove he belongs to the MLB level. Rush doesn’t play center field, but he can play center field immediately from Outman with Andy Page and Tommy Edman (when he returns).
