Transfer Expert’s Fabrizio Romano shared the upcoming updates of Newcastle star Bruno Guimarè during his link with Arsenal.
Arsenal’s summer transfer window is expected to be “important” and there are several important reinforcements on Mikel Arteta’s radar. Speculation has linked them to the move of Newcastle United midfield maestro Bruno Guimarèe as the Gunners aim to strengthen their teams for the upcoming season.
Romano has made the situation clear, saying there have been no concrete negotiations between Arsenal and Brazilian international.
Andrea Berta will take over as Arsenal’s new sports director, and North London Club is preparing a transformational window.
The focus is not only to strengthen the team, but also to ensure the future of key players, including Bukayosaka, where the club will be taking part in formal talks.
Meanwhile, Arsenal is looking for new strikers, including Alexander Isaac of Newcastle and Benjamin Sesco of RB Leipzig.
Guimarès reportedly has been taking Arsenal’s radar for a while, especially under former sports director Edu Gaspard.
However, according to Romano, Berta’s appointment has brought uncertainty about whether the club will still pursue a Brazilian midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano is providing the latest news for Bruno Guimares to Arsenal
Amid growing speculation, Romano has made clear about Arsenal’s stance on Guimarrae, saying that for now there is no solid approach from the Gunners yet.
Speaking about the situation on his YouTube channel, he said:
“We have a lot of reports on Bruno Guimarès, and other clubs that are interested in Arsenal and Bruno Guimarès.
“What I can tell you today is that despite all the stories Arsenal is involved, I don’t know of any specific negotiations or specific contacts between Arsenal or Bruno Guimaré.
Romano also said that it was previously considered a target under EDU Gaspar, given the shared Brazilian connections. However, there is no direction for the club under Andrea Berta.
“He was on the list when the manager was Edu Gaspard, so the connection is there because he was on the list. Now the new manager is Andrea Berta. At this point, he is unaware of the direct contact between Bruno Guimares and Arsenal.”
Since joining Newcastle United from Lyon in the summer of 2022, Guimares has solidified his reputation as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. His technical talent, vision and defensive contributions made him a key figure in Eddie Howe’s setup.
This season, Guimares have recorded three goals and eight assists in 37 appearances in all competitions. Last season, he contributed seven goals and 10 assists in 50 games, leading the overall tally at Newcastle to 20 goals and 24 assists.
His outstanding performances have naturally attracted interest from elite clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.
However, Newcastle signed Guimarè into a new contract in October 2023, effectively dodging profits from potential suitors.
With the Arsenal sports director transition currently moving, it is still unclear whether Berta will consider Guimaré Guimaré as a priority signature.
The gunners are expected to strengthen the midfield, but there are no indications that suggest an impending pursuit of the Brazilian star.
For now, Arsenal fans will have to wait to see how the summer transfer period unfolds and whether Guimaré will remain a viable target under the new leadership. One thing is for sure, if the gunner decides to move out for the Newcastle Star, they will face a tough negotiation process to secure his signature.
