Anthony Davis is considered by many to be one of the most talented players in the NBA.
Since being drafted in 2012, he has reached multiple All-Star All-NBA teams and helped the La Lakers win the championship in 2020.
During his time with the Lakers, Anthony Davis played alongside LeBron James, but he was a key part of the team through the stint with Purple and Gold.
His scoring and brilliance against an offensive end is also defensively threatening, but he has become one of the league’s most coveted players.
AD traded with the Dallas Mavericks in February as part of a blockbuster deal and is currently scheduled to join the former coach.
Phil Handy is one of the league’s most respected coaches, winning championship teams and stints for the Lakers, Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers.
He was on the Lakers coaching staff with Jason Kidd in 2020 and is currently planning to join him as an assistant for Dallas.
Handy Will will once again coach AD, a player who spoke so much in his appearance on the “All the Smoke” podcast.
He states:
“I don’t even think AD understands how special he is. I think the biggest part about him is that he is a very good guy and he has a great family.”
What’s convenient is calling him an MVP caliber player, which gave him praise for the ad.
“But in the ads… he’s an NBA MVP caliber player, and he’s talking about how he really controls the game on both ends.
“He’s just a special talent. They call him a unicorn,” Handy added.
Davis enjoyed the best stints of his career while playing for the Lakers under handy.
He is one of the best player development coaches in the NBA, working with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and even Kobe Bryant.
He was with the Lakers recently, but left the team in 2024 when JJ Reddick took over coaching responsibilities.
The 53-year-old was called to Kidd’s coaching staff considering he is currently joining Davis and Irving.
The ad endured injuries towards the end of last season, and he too missed a few games.
He also had surgery in his eyes, but should return to the Mavericks next season.
In something convenient for the coaching staff, they work to unlock Davis’s best.
The Mavs has a stack of rosters with Davis, Irving and Klay Thompson leading the way for them.
However, AD is important due to his two-way dominance and his ability to lead the team from the frontline.
