NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon meets Victor Wenbagnama, who wants to learn the French phenomenon from the former champion.
Hakeem Olajuwon is an NBA royalty who led the Houston Rockets to the Back-to-Back Championship in 1994 and 1995.
The Houston community has had real rage when Olajuwon was recently denied access to the Cougars celebration amid security turmoil.
Olajuwon has maintained a presence in the state, and has previously conducted training sessions with some of the top NBA stars, including Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and upcoming Hall of Fame Dwight Howard.
Now another elite level NBA star is looking for the help of Hakeem Olajuwon.
San Antonio Spurs Sensation Victor Wenbagnama was the first overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and was the rookie of the year.
Wenbanyama enjoyed an incredible second season, increasing the points per game from 21.3 to 24.3 before being closed due to health issues.
Now, as he plans to return to his 2025-26, Victor Wenbanyama met with Hakeem Olajuwon.
The video was posted online by KPRC2 anchor Ari Alexander, detailing the recent meeting between the two players.
When asked about his meeting with Wenbanyama, Olajuwon replied that the Frenchman left a good impression and gave him an update on positive health. “He is approachable and extremely humble.
“I was very impressed with the way he carried himself. He was just talking about his blood clots. He’s ready now. It was a really nice interaction.”
Hakeem Olajuwon is famous for his fleet footwork, which is what makes Victor Wembanyam even better in his game.
Ali Alexander asked Olajuwon, “Is he the next guy to ride in your gym?” and it seemed that NBA legend had been politely declining.
He replied: “He asked about it, I told him, “You’ve already got everything… just have fun.” ”
“He has it all,” added Dream.
Houston Rockets fans may enjoy this reaction. The team legend appears to reject the opportunity to help a star player with the San Antonio Spurs rival.
However, Victor Wenbanyama appears not to be keen on taking a “no” for the answer.
Olajuwon explained: “I said, ‘You don’t need it,’ he said, ‘Well, I want to learn anyway.’ ”
Take a look at this space and see if Victor Wenbanyama and Hakeem Olajuwon will link to training sessions in the offseason.
The NBA is being warned.
