The Los Angeles lost yet another starter over the weekend as the team caused right elbow discomfort to the list that injured right-handed pitcher Tony Gonzolin.

Currently, the depleted ‘ rotation has three starting pitchers remaining: Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Clayton Carshaw and Dustin May. Prior to the 2025 season, the defending champion had an overflow of pitching talent.
Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, Joi Shiroki, May, Yamamoto was poised to join the rotation and several pitching reinforcements, including the Kershaw, Gonsorin and Shohai Otani, as the season progressed.
Lo and behold, the richness of LA pitching depth was essentially wiped out by injuries. The are in the midst of enduring the effects of countless injuries as the start of pitching is once again a problem for the organization.
The starter has only 18 innings of more than six innings this season. La Rotation has compiled 17 quality starts, the fifth lowest in MLB.
How the will fight the pitching agonies this season remains a mystery. The defending champions are not expected to make a big splash on the trade deadline, especially after spending millions of the last two offseasons for Glasnow, Yamamoto and Snell.
Justin Wrobleski and Landon Knack may have more opportunities to help with rotation, but with which abilities it is unknown.
After a winter that prioritized gaining pitching depth, the once again found themselves with short hands.
