Manchester United have already signed wolves Mateus Cunha this summer, but now they’re close to signing Brentford’s right winger Brian Mbeumo.
Mbeumo has been Man UTD’s top target for much of the summer and there has finally been a positive development on yesterday’s contract.
David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that at two clubs they have finally agreed to Cameroon International’s rates, which look like an exciting addition to Ruben Amorim’s Squad.
Henry Winter is squeezing these two new signatures for United, saying that even when he raises questions about Bruno Fernandez and Mason Mount, they both look like great purchases.
How does Man Utd fit Cunha, Mbeumo, Fernandes and Mount?
Winter is X’s post, pointing out that Amorim’s preferred formation may not have much room to include all three Cunha, Mbeumo and Fernandes, but that certainly pushes the mount down further in turn.
“It will be interesting to see how Manchester United line up this season,” Winter said.
“Mbeumo and Cunha clearly fit in two ten roles in Amorim’s beloved 3-4-2-1. Both bring excellent signatures, pl-harded, goals and assists.
“But, there are probably eight players lined up, not to mention that United’s best player is Bruno Fernandez, the most effective 10-year-old, but he doesn’t have the defensive qualities to play deeper.
“And where does this leave a no-10 like the mount? On the bench. When he gets healthy.”
Man United need a good transfer window
It goes without saying that this is a very important summer for them, as last season was one of the worst in recent history for United.
Cunha and Mbeumo look like great signings, but the club will definitely need another striker and perhaps a central defensive midfielder, so much more will be needed.
Player sales are also important. Because they don’t want to carry passengers like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony for much longer.
