La Lakers has been added to the roster, and an interesting name has been signed to the contract.
Following the addition of Marcus Smart, the LA Lakers concluded their roster. One name to watch out for is Augustus Marschlioinis.
Austas Marciulionis is one of four developmental players who, together with RJ Davis, Eric Dixon and Arthur Kaluma, painted a contract with the Lakers.
All four will be featured in training camp, looking to show what they can do and spend time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers over the next season.
Augustus Marschlio Innis is the son of Sarunas Marschlio Nis, who played in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets and Seattle Super Sonics.
Sarunas was the first Lithuanian to arrive in the NBA, burning the trail that Kristaps Porzingis followed.
Now his son Augusta has the opportunity to make his name in the league.
The 23-year-old spent his college days at St. Mary’s in Auckland, and made his professional debut as a teenager in Lithuania several years ago.
In an interview with Associated Press News earlier this year, Marciurionis described him as “basketball royalty” as returning to Lithuania for his father.
But when asked if he was the Lithuanian version of Bronnie James, he replied: “No, no. That’s not.”
Marciulionis currently shares the court with Bronny James and his father, NBA Legend Lebron James.
The age gap between Marciulionis and his own father becomes larger. He is currently 61 years old.
Marciulionis was a 6-foot-4-inch point guard and made a strong impression at St. Mary’s College.
“We had a lot of good point guards… he’s on the top,” said his coach Randy Bennett.
St. Mary described him as the “conductor” of the team’s offense in recent seasons. He is one of three college players, earning 1,000 points and 500 assists.
