The Los Angeles finished a two-game series against the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo, Japan, winning both games on the unprecedented first day.

The bonds that the have in Japan are no deeper secrets than baseball.
Manager Dave Roberts, National League MVP Shohei ohtani, first-day starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto, 23-year-old Phenom and Game 2 starter Roki Sasaki are all indigenous to the country.
It was an honor to play at Tokyo Dome on Tuesday and Wednesday, but Gallen Kerr, the vice president of players, had no choice but to talk about Japan’s outlook that he hopes one day will wear the uniform.
“When I ask about the next five years in Japan, I can name at least three really interesting names that we will be considering moving forward and looking,” Kerr told the LA Times.
Baseball business president Andrew Friedman is not a man of the kind of talent that has risen through the Japanese class in the past decade or so. He revealed his goals as to how the next generation of Japanese talents see the as more outstanding and hopes to make a leap into MLB.
“In our ideal world, kids are growing up in Japan, watching games, being fans of the team. And when there is a decision they will decide, it gives us some advantage in the process,” Friedman said.
When Otani signed a $700 million deal with Los Angeles in December 2023, Friedman spoke about the idea of ”painting Japanese Blue.” After seeing the kind of impact his team had on Japan, manager Dave Roberts believes his team did just that.
“I think our mission has been achieved,” Skipper said.
The future of Japanese baseball is bright, and the front office will do everything they can to ensure it is blue.
