Even if they don’t have a single pick in the first round, the Los Angeles Lakers will be happy with their choice in the 2025 NBA Draft.
They won the scoring machine for Adou Thiero, Eric Dixon, and a Juggernaut defending three players after the end of the 2025 NBA Draft.
The other three players welcomed by the Los Angeles Lakers were all given 10 deals on exhibits, including Augusta Marciurionis.
“Saint Mary’s PG Augustas Marčiulionis told ESPN that he would agree to a 10 exhibit agreement with La Lakers.
“The two WCC Player of the Year missed the pre-draft process with a leg injury, but will be healthy by late July.”
But who is Marciulionis? First of all, he is the son of Basketball Hall of Fame Sarunas Marciulionis.
Even the No. 1 overall pick, which only spent one season in the NCAA, was in the days when Marciulionis attended college for four years.
The 23-year-old got better each season when St. Mary’s averaged 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists, shooting 42.3% from the field and 30.4% from the 3-point line.
statistics | New students | Second grade | Junior | Senior |
point | 3.1 ppg | 5.9 ppg | 12.4 ppg | 14.2 ppg |
rebound | 1.0 RPG | 1.2 RPG | 3.3 RPG | 3.1 RPG |
assist | 1.8 APG | 1.6 APG | 5.3 APG | 5.9 APG |
As shown, Marciulionis has steadily improved in the NCAA over four years. By his third and fourth grades, he began to start steeling averages above 1.0 per game.
However, these numbers were not enough for him to be drafted. The main reason was his age, as he was already 23 years old.
However, if the Lakers overlook that aspect and focus on developing his three-point shooting, he could be a great contributor to the team from the bench.
One thing that can intrigue the Laker nation is that the 23-year-old security guard did not sign a permanent contract and did not join the team on a two-way contract.
Instead, he signed a contract with Purple and Gold and Exhibition 10. So, what exactly does this mean for Marciulionis’ future in LA?
Well, that means the Lakers signed him a one-year non-guaranteed agreement. The exhibit 10 contract means his salary won’t count in the Lakers’ cap space until the start of the regular season.
Simply put, the Lakers took him to summer leagues and training camp. If the former St. Mary star fails to impress, the Lakers can easily say goodbye to him.
