Brooklyn Net has made a major addition to the roster for the 2025-26 NBA season.
Despite entering the 2025 NBA draft with five first-round picks, Brooklyn Net is less likely to consider the Eastern Conference’s top team.
In fact, anonymous executives made fun of the Nets’ first round pick in the draft. As a result, it’s no surprise that the net is still looking for valuable additions to the roster.
According to NBA insider Michael Scott, the net has now signed a new contract for Fumbo Zen for the 2025-26 NBA season.
Given that Zeng did not take the traditional route to play for the NCAA, it’s not surprising that many fans don’t know who the Nets’ new signature is.
Well, the 22-year-old is one of the best prospects for Beijing ducks in China’s CBA. Standing at 6’11”, weighing about 199 pounds, Zeng has shots to make his name in the net.
During the CBA, Zeng averaged 12.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game of ducks.
| statistics | 2022-23 | 2023-24 | 2024-25 |
| point | 12.0 ppg | 10.3 ppg | 14.7 ppg |
| rebound | 4.6 RPG | 4.1 RPG | 4.7 RPG |
| assist | 0.8 APG | 0.8 APG | 1.9 APG |
He also shot 46.3% from the field and 38.6% from the three-point line. Combining that with 80.0% from the free throw line, Zeng is an efficient scorer.
Zeng tried his luck in the 2022 NBA Draft, but no team trusted the skills of the forwards back then. The main reason behind it was his inactive performance in the G League.
Yes, before heading to the CBA’s Beijing Ducks, Zeng played easily in the G League Ignite in the 2021-22 chip-off tournament.
However, Zeng averaged 3.8 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game in nine appearances, including three starts.
He also shot 36.4% awful from the field, but raised 40.0% from deep. Either way, Zeng appears to be working on his craft as he scored the shot that ultimately debuted his NBA debut in the 2025-26 season.
