The Los Angeles Lakers made an important announcement ahead of the 2025 NBA Media Day.
With NBA training camp getting closer than ever, the Los Angeles Lakers have adjusted their roster of 15 people.
The organization has decided to cut Eric Dixon and Tebian Jones in their favour of Anton Watson and Nate Williams. Dixon was ready to take over the Lakers, but his dream remained unfulfilled.
Put that aside and find out who Williams, the Lakers’ latest signature, has signed an exhibit 10 contract with the team.
Nate Williams aka Jeenathan Williams has already gained three years of NBA experience ahead of the 2025-26 season.
This is a notable feat as Williams was drafted during the 2022 NBA Draft and joined the Utah Jazz in training camp.
He made his debut with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2023, but the stint was only five games. He then joined the Houston Rockets and spent two years in the franchise before being abandoned.
Overall, the 6’5”, 205-pound shooting guard played in 47 games in the league, shooting 51.7% off the field with 3.9 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists.
The Lakers only opened one two-way slot before the 2025-26 season, and Williams was shot to clinch it during training camp.
The 26-year-old had little NBA experience, but he enjoyed the NCAA Buffalo Bulls and solid spells.
After all, Williams averaged 12.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the Bulls, shooting 46.7% off the field.

He also played in the G League while Williams was in and out of the NBA. So far, Williams has played a total of 49 G League matches under his belt.
During these appearances, Williams averaged 15.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He also shot a respectable 50.7% off the floor.
