The in Los Angeles made an incredible announcement Thursday night. They placed All-Star base hand Freddie Freeman on the list injured due to an ankle injury. The move was retroactive until March 31st. That means he’ll be out for at least a week.
More news: places Freddie Freeman on injured list due to unfortunate updates
The team announced that Freeman was participating in the IL, but did not announce any corresponding roster moves.
The may have already made that decision as they will need to meet the Philadelphia team for their upcoming three-game series with the Phillies starting Friday night. But the question remains who they will call. Here are some options:
1. Dalton Rush
The path to joining Rushing’s major league roster was blocked by catchers Will Smith and Austin Burns. However, I have a base playing experience in rushing. This could be his best chance to get injured and make his MLB debut for a foreseeable future.
The wanted to see how Rushing bats play at the MLB level. This will be the perfect week to see what he can do. The fact that he is a left-handed bat is also not hurt.
However, since Rush is not on the 40-person roster, LA has to open a 40-person spot.
2. James Outman
Outman doesn’t help directly by taking over one base, but the outfielder gave LA another left-handed bat along with Freeman. Outman obviously managed to play at center field where Andy Page struggles to start the year.
Outman is on a 40-person roster, making it easier for the roster to move.
3. Hunter Fedechia
Like Outman, Feduccia is on a roster of 40 people. He is primarily a catcher, but he plays past experiences on a single base and is also left-handed.
4. More options
The can also choose to call Heisenkim (40 rosters and left-handed), David Boat (not right-handed, not 40 rosters), or Eddie Rosario (not left-handed, not 40 rosters). Boat has some experience with one base, but Kim is the middle infielder and Rosario is the outfielder.
