Los Angeles Lakers legends Kareem Abdul Jabber and Magic Johnson will be a magic matchup against Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen against Chicago Bulls legend.
Together, Abdul-Jabbar and Johnson ruled the 1980s, winning five championships in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1988.
They were teammates for 10 seasons, during which the legendary duo led the Lakers eight times to the NBA Finals.
Meanwhile, Pippen and Jordan ruled the 1990s, winning six championships. Their two three peats came in succession from 1991 to 1993, 1996 to 1998.
It’s always fun to look back at NBA history and compare some of the greats.
Looking at this hypothetical matchup between Johnson and Abdul Jabber vs. Pippen and Jordan, we can go either way.
Richard Jefferson was heavier in this heavyweight fight with The Road Trippin’ Podcast, but had to side with the Bulls superstar.
“To be honest, I think Magic and Kareem will lose to Pippen and Jordan.
“Kareem was dominant, but if you think about things like Scotty Pippen, like the main Kareem, I think you’re talking about two guys right now, and I think Pippen can do enough work in the post.
“Can Kareem get out on the boundary and guard Scotty? I don’t think he wants those puppies to move against Scotty Pippen. Then we’ve got MJ vs Magic right, you know…”
Jordan and Pippen are, without a doubt, the best duo of all time because of what they were able to accomplish together.
To this day, the Bulls are the only NBA team with two independent three peats.
Pippen is a complete small advance known for his versatility and elite defense, allowing him to play multiple positions.
Jordan, on the other hand, is a very versatile security guard with completely offensive and defensive skills, and is considered high as the goat (the biggest ever).
With all that in mind, it’s hard to oppose Jefferson’s Pippen and Jordanian picks.
