The also want to keep Quique Hernandez fresh as they are trying to find consistency at the plate this season.
Edman has become a rough diamond for the this year. He cuts .252/.295/.523 with eight home runs, 24 RBI and an OPS of .818. He has the pace with the best offensive season of his career.
The are looking for Edman to get a full day on Wednesday before returning to their Friday series opener lineup with the Atlanta Braves before slated for an off-day on Thursday.
