An interesting theory of Pecco Bagnaia’s difficulties regarding Ducati in 2025 was raised on the Crash MotoGP podcast.
Bagnaia, who just lost last year’s championship in the final round, struggled badly with the front-end feel this season at GP25.
He drags new teammate Mark Marquez, the championship leader, to 51 points. But Bagnaia also lags behind Gresini’s Alex Marquez at Ducati a year ago this year.
However, seeing the two former Ducati riders who left the maker in the winter, they were able to shed some light on Bagnaia’s struggle for adaptation.

“They lost Jorge Martin and Enia Bastianini. The other two may have gone from GP24 to GP25,” Peter McLaren told the Crush MotoGP podcast.
“He is the only guy who took that step.
“Mark and Fabio di Giannantonio have come from 23 years that are difficult to ride, so for them, the bike is even better.
“And Mark is Mark. It’s like it’s based on Ducati based on what Casey Stoner is doing. You need to remove the Mark from the average or standard on your bike.
“Maybe that’s what Pecco got when he said, ‘The Mark can ride anything.’
“The last thing Rider said was that I could think of, Jorge Lorenzo was talking about Stoner in the Sepang test.
“There is no point in drawing conclusions from what Casey did with Ducati or what Mark is doing now.
“There are doubts about Ducati. Why Pecco can’t feel it, Digia has problems, David Tardozzi confirms that the ’24 is strong and the ’25 engine is different.
“We came to believe that the choice is the original ’25 or ’24. Now they’re doing it on a hybrid. The engine is frozen so we can’t change it.”
Pecco Bagnaia “see the difference” in MotoGP data

Marquez won the championship iron grip at the MotoGP in France last weekend, winning a sprint and finishing second in the Grand Prix.
Bagnaia took one point back from Le Mans and crashed in both races, tearing the pain apart.
“It all got more complicated. There were multiple things that happened in Le Mans – the bike, they said, ‘They can’t change bikes, so they have to change,'” continued Peter McLaren.
“The opening round was not easy to compare to last year. Thailand moved earlier this year and Argentina is back. Kota is Kota and Qatar is night race.
“Then we had Jerez and Le Mans, the same type of tire.
“Fabio di Giannantonio also complained about the feeling of the front end.
“He has concerns and problems with the frontend. Perhaps, “I say the frontend is a problem, but I say it’s getting points.”
“Then, in the sprint, you’ll find a crash and you’ll find it in another dimension, where you’re “You’re lacking emotions and you’re approaching a crash.”
“On Sunday (clash) with Enea Bastianini, it was just a race incident when it rained.
“The bikes are strong as all three of the GP24 have won the podium this year.
“Perhaps they’re looking at the data. Pecco is looking at the data from last year and three fast guys on the GP24. He’s looking at the difference.”
