Why Michael Jordan's killer instinct was different from other NBA greats

Former NBA player John Sally once described Michael Jordan’s killer Instinble and David Stern’s role in it.

It’s been over 20 years since Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan last played in the NBA.

Fans often ignore the two-year stint in Washington’s Wizard, but they love what MJ has achieved with the Bulls.

Jordan is often praised for his killer instincts that help him lead the Bulls to six NBA championships, while also establishing himself as the greatest basketball player of all time in most eyes.

Former NBA player John Sally is best known for his time with the “Bad Boys” Detroit Pistons. Obviously, he had many opportunities to play against Jordan at the height of his career.

However, Salley also had the opportunity to share the locker room with Bulls legend, albeit only in a single season. That being said, Sally answered what once highlighted Mike’s instincts of a very famous killer.

“The difference with Michael is that Michael came to the NBA with David Stern. When he came with David Stern, he came with a great agent who is a great lawyer.

He added: “When you were developing that product, you had to make it a messiah now. You had to make it a messiah so that people would worship it.”

Salley hinted that David Stern took over as NBA commissioner in 1984, and that MJ joined the league in the same year, helping Bulls Star become the brand they are today.

Sally, a member of the Pistons, was once part of a fierce competition against the bulls. Even decades later, most people believe that Jordan is one of the best achievements of his career, overcoming the “bad boys.”

Since then, many people have criticized the piston. However, in an interview with the Chicago Tribune in 1991, Sallie claimed that Jordan and Phil Jackson had created a poor image of the Pistons.

“The way they get foul shots more than we do is amazing. We can’t do anything on defense. They know they drive and get two points or foul shots.

“Phil Jackson talked about our defense before the playoffs, and I think he knew he had to face off in the final,” Sally said.

He added: “It was a subliminal seduction. He convinced everyone. Michael Jordan is convinced that everyone is a filthy player.

The reality remains that the Pistons create the “Jordan Rules” and ensure that MJ has positively influenced the game.
