Sean Brady considers Philadelphia fans to be the best fans in the world. But he may be a bit biased.
Brady recorded the biggest victory of his mixed martial arts career on Saturday, relinquishing former welterweight title holder Leon Edwards in Britt’s backyard. Brady could finish “Rocky” in the fourth round via the guillotine, extending his unbeaten streak to 3 and putting himself in pole position for a shot at the top prize in the 170 pound category.
After getting the job done in front of the hostile British crowd, Brady hopes to soon get the opportunity to compete in front of the crowds in his brothers’ town’s hometown.
“Philadelphia is a different breed,” Brady told Lowkick MMA and other reporters at a postwar press conference at UFC London. “They’ll ride or die. They boo you as quickly as they cheer you on, and that’s what makes them the best fan in the world.
“If you’re from Philadelphia, you already know. Win or lose, they’ll let you know. But it’s just love, Philadelphia love, do you know?”
Has Sean Brady’s big victory in London come to the UFC come back to Philadelphia?
The Ultimate Fighting Championship hosted three events in Philadelphia. This hosted the final event of 2019, offering a fight night card that was discovered in 2019 by Justingeche and Edson Barboza’s lightweight collision. On the main card, Paul Craig, Josh Emmett and Jack Hermanson scored in the evening.
It’s probably time for the UFC to prepare to return to America’s birthplace sooner than Brady would lift his tee and slow down his shots at Welterweight Gold.
