Manchester United will be compiling Diego Leon’s transfer from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno.
The player is currently flying out to Manchester to join with his new teammates, revealing in an interview from the airport that he is about to succeed with the Red Devils, and wants to quickly adapt to the league, climate and language.
He said (H/T Matias Cuevas): “The senses are inexplicable. You feel so much. The truth is, I am so happy and I am so happy to be there. I think I dream of this.
“Thank God for the opportunity. I think it was a little faster, but hey, you have to adapt as soon as you get there. I’m already an expert. You have to adapt immediately.
“I need to adapt a little to the climate, the language and all of that. I have a lot of confidence in myself. I’m on top with them.
Can Man United properly raise him?
The 18-year-old is highly regarded and proved to be a great long-term investment for Manchester United. They will pay the young defender 4 million euros, and if he can establish himself in British football, this deal may look like a masterstroke in the long run. The transaction was agreed a few months ago.
Manchester United have an impressive track record in developing young players. They were able to help him fulfill his incredible potential at the 18-year-old. He rarely becomes a regular starter for Manchester United at this stage of his career. It would be fair to assume he might be on the youth team for now. However, he hopes to force his path into future Reuben Amorim’s first team plan.
It will be interesting to see if he can soon establish himself as a first-team player for Manchester United.

Diego Leon could be a useful addition
The 18-year-old can work as a left-back as well as a wing-back. He could prove to be a very useful player for Manchester United in the long run. Manchester United have struggled in the division over the past few seasons, requiring a quality long-term acquisition in that region of the pitch.
Judging from the interviews before moving, Leon comes across as a confident, talented young player. It will be interesting to see if he can meet his expectations at Manchester United and meet his potential with them.
