Baseball in October officially begins on Tuesday for the Los Angeles .
Boys in Blue will host three best series in the wildcard round. Tuesday’s opening game will begin at 6:08 PM (PT/9:08 PM ET). The are determined to play the Cincinnati Reds.
However, we know that Clayton Carshaw is not part of the roster. Dave Roberts, who is set to start Sunday’s final regular season game in Seattle, has shown that future Hall of Fame will not be included in the first postseason roster.
If the Car Show was folded, the group of 13 people projected for the wildcard round could be:
Starting pitchers: Blakesnell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shoes Hei ohtani (3)
Otani has a unique distinction that doesn’t count as pitchers. This means that the can technically carry extra pitchers that Otani is a two-way star than all other teams.
The three starters in this wildcard series seem very easy. After sweeping Seattle in LA, manager Dave Roberts revealed that Blake Snell will start Game 1 of the Wild Card Series with Yoshinobu Yamamoto following Game 2.
If you want Game 3, Otani will probably take the mound for LA.
Relief pitchers: Tyler Glasnow, Emmett Sheehan, Blake Trainen, Edgard Henriquez, Loki Sasaki, Alex Vescia, Anthony Banda, Tanner Scott, Justin Worbulski, Ben Caspalius, Jack Dreyer (11)
Because of these three, which assume a role as a starter for the short series, Glasnow moves to the pen. Given what he brings to the table, Glasnow can easily feature in AA high-leverage situations. There is also a world where he comes after one of the starters and closes the game, which will likely be 3-4 innings. He also adds a high quality one from the right side. This is important considering the HTE team’s struggle with right-handed options.
Speaking of which, the biggest surprise about this equation is Casparius. He’s going back in the Triple A after winning a 4.64 ERA in 46 appearances this year. It probably descends to Casparius and becomes Klein for its final spot. Edge goes to Caspalius based on the experience he brings and the trust his team has in him. The fact that he is reportedly being transported to LA ahead of Tuesday’s contest could also be a further confirmation of his placement on the roster.
Trainen and Sheehan are rocks. The same can be said for Henriques and Sasaki at this point. The two young men definitely have the best weapons to come out of the rescue team. You can often imagine a scenario where they “play” in the postseason and each day bumps into MPH over 100 miles, relying on Sasaki and Henriquez to get tough outs.
Left-handed stability may change depending on matchups. It is not very common to see five left-handed people as options available in the bullpen at any time. If the want to have an extra right-handed arm for this wildcard round, then Wrobleski or Dreamyer could be dropped off.
Currently, Wrobleski can defeat multiple innings and has a plus amount to take advantage of it. Dreyer is one of the most consistent performers on the team all year round. Vesia and Banda have long been the trust of their team BrainTrust. Scott is the biggest wildcard in this group (no pun intended). But given his contract and the constant opportunity he was given, there is virtually no world in which he has suspended this roster. Scott’s status as lock-in approaches remains a major issue moving forward.
