Reliever Brock Stewart was re-acquired by the Los Angeles at a trade deadline that has become the team’s most important move.
Stewart was in the middle of an epic season with the Minnesota Twins when he returned to the West Coast on a contract with outfielder James Outman. All of Stewart’s advanced analysis is great, showing that he is the dominant rescuer against right-handed batsmen.

After just four appearances with the , Stewart went to IL with shoulder issues. He hasn’t pitched in the game since August 9th.
When I talk to manager Dave Roberts, Bill Plunkett Orange County Register Stewart reported that it could be a very important addition to the bullpen that needs help from the right side. He has returned to positions that are likely to rejoin the team after appearing in rehab several times in the minor leagues.
“If everything goes well, we can have a conversation over the weekend,” Roberts said. “If everything goes wrong, it could be very useful with his ability to market and manage his abilities properly (hand batters).”
With a large number of left-handed pitchers predicted to be on the postseason roster, it is essential for the to find a consistent right-handed weapon.
“We need that,” Roberts said. “If you look at our pen, we have a good sample of how it’s carried against right-handed batting. … He has the track record and latest (Stewart’s) and he needs to be healthy and make sure he’s right.
As mentioned above, the amount of left-handed left-handed within the staff will return to Stewart’s very important. The 13-person pitching staff for the postseason include Clayton Carshaw, Blakesnell, Alex Vescia, Tanner Scott, Jack Dlayer, Anthony Vanda and Justin Worbleski.
That only involves the rights of a small number of non-starters. Outside of Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow, the Righty group consists of groupings such as Kopech, Yates, Blake Treinen, Edgardo Henriquez, Emmet Sheehan, and possibly Roki Sasaki.

Stewart is definitely a highly leveraged arm, and as some of the other options experience, it’s something that doesn’t force you to move from starter to reliever. Stewart’s profile shows pitchers who miss barrels, create soft contacts and attack people.
This kind of player is desperately needed within this pen, and Stewart spends a relatively short time proving that he is ready for the pressure-packed nature of the postseason.
