Managers usually go back and forth to MLB quite often. However, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts is heading for his 10th season with the organization in 2025, and the are set to keep him for a while.
The agreed to a lucrative four-year contract extension with Roberts on Tuesday, making him the highest-paid MLB manager in history.
Roberts’ career with the will continue until 2029, but the question is whether the franchise will say goodbye to the skipper.
“Who knows that? Given the sport’s condition, it’s the manager,” President Stan Kasten said live with Doug McCain on the Dugout Live. “But I’m really happy that Dave has been done.”

Roberts led the to two World Series titles, four National League pennants, and eight NL West titles during his tenure. He also finished in the top seven of the NL Manager of the Year, voting every season since winning the honors in 2016.
His success in Los Angeles suggests a bright future for Roberts. This is another factor in Kasten’s uncertainty surrounding Roberts’ future with the .
“He’s very young too,” Kasten told McCain. “Does he want to do this until he’s 70 or 80? I don’t know.”
Roberts has been criticised for his coaching decisions throughout his career, but many people can agree that he has made a significant contribution to the ‘ success.
Kasten acknowledged Roberts’ achievements and explained that his success is why fans assume that they will stay with the for a long time.
“He’s already here for nine years, and that’s long-term for the manager,” Kasten told McCain. “We respect and appreciate everything he’s done, so that’s why the internet says he’s going to be around for quite some time.”

Regardless of his future in the organization, Roberts has more important jobs ahead of him. He has a superstar roster that can win back-to-back World Series titles and add another feather to Roberts’ cap.
