Before Tuesday defeated Tokyo’s Chicago Cubs 4-1, the Los Angeles released a 26-man roster and released an injured list, including nine pitchers.
Two pitchers were placed in the 60-day IL and opened a 40-man roster spot for others.

Below are the nine current names of IL in LA, as well as the specific injuries that landed there.
- Tony Gonsolin, RHP (15 Days IL, Back Tightness)
- Brusdar Graterol, RHP (60-day IL, right shoulder surgery)
- Michael Grove, RHP (60 days IL, right shoulder surgery)
- Eduardo Henriquez, RHP (15-day IL, left foot fracture)
- Kyle Hurt, RHP (15 days IL, right elbow surgery)
- Clayton Kershaw, LHP (15 Days of Illinois, left toe surgery)
- Michael Kopech, RHP (15 days IL, right shoulder collision)
- Evan Phillips, RHP (15th IL, right rotator cuff strain)
- Emmett Sheehan, RHP (15 days IL, right elbow surgery)
Grove and Graterol were placed in Illinois for 60 days, moving Saga and Lewis Garcia to a 40-person roster. Gloves are out all year round, but Gratel is expected to return later in the season.
Despite nine pitchers on the sidelines with injuries, the Tokyo Series ‘ active staff delivered near perfect results on Tuesday.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto set the tone in the season opener and managed to hit the four innings, running at least one strong inning.
The bullpen took over as sixth, starting with Anthony Banda, followed by Ben Caspalius, Blake Trainen and Tanner Scott. They combined for four no-hit innings, retiring 12 of the 13 batters they faced.
