Newcastle will target several important signatures this summer, but they could also lose key players. One of them may be Sandro Tonari, who has attracted interest from Italian and Spanish clubs.
Alexander Isaac and Antony Gordon are linked to leaving Newcastle during the summer transfer period, but at this stage Tonari may be someone close to the exit door. Juventus is very keen to bring him back to Italy, but Barcelona has been registered as interested in the defensive midfielder, which was a revelation since returning from the 10-month suspension last August.
However, Newcastle has the ambition to establish himself as a team that regularly finishes within Premier League Champions League locations. For this reason, he doesn’t want to sell players like Tonari, which is important to Eddie Howe.
Newcastle has set the lowest asking price for Sandro Tonari
However, nonetheless, it has been reported by La Staccas (via sports witness) that Newcastle has set a asking price of at least 60-70 million euros for the tonari. Juventus is said to not want to reach that amount, but their hope is to include Douglas Lewis in the contract and lower the price to someone who fits them.
Newcastle signed Tonari for €60 million for a two-year fee, and given that he has become one of the most important players in recent months, it’s a big surprise if he’s willing to sell for this reported rating, unless the player himself appears not at this stage.
Nevertheless, Juventus appears to be determined to sign Tonari this summer, so it’s not surprising that he’s made contact with Newcastle during the transfer period.
