Wimbledon starts on Monday, with two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz being a heavy favorite on the boys’ side along with title contenders Jannik Sinner and Novak Jjokovic.

The women’s side feels much wider open. Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek were each able to win their first Wimbledon title.

Who will win? We voted for experts on their picks and best betting tips.

Who do you think will win the women’s singles title?

Pam Shriver: On the women’s side in recent years, Wimbledon has come up with many amazing champions, and I think the trend will continue in 2025. Compared to men, it is much more difficult to feel confident in picking to hold a Venus rosewater dish on July 12th.

It’s unsettling that Sabalenka has left two of his last three Wimbledons. Last year, he was injured in 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine, as Wimbledon was placed on Russian players. It will also be interesting to see if Sabalenka suffers from a hangover after losing to Gouf in the final at Roland Garros. But I’m not sure I’ll choose someone else.

D’Arcy Maine: This is tough and I don’t have any obvious favourites to participate in tournaments. Gauff and Sabalenka have consistently played great tennis throughout the season. However, despite the tough draws in the tournament and a relatively weak (by her standards) resume, I am planning to use Swiatek. I know, that sounds a bit ridiculous. But Swiatek, the number eight seed, enters this major under this major radar than she has been taking years. She also plays perhaps the best tennis of her ostensibly career.

Last week, in Bad Homburg at the only Grass Court event ahead of Wimbledon, she reached her first final on the surface and made her first tour final in over a year. Throughout the week, she clinically postponed top 20 players like Jasmine Palini and Ekaterina Alexandrova, and did not drop the set until I faced another player Really Consider choosing this for the final.

2025 Wimbledon Men’s Odds

Swiatek has never made it past the Wimbledon quarterfinals and may have to win former champion Elena Rivakina in the past in the fourth round. However, this feels like a great opportunity for Swiatek to get her season and status back on track among the best players in the game.

Connelly: I like the picks of swiatek and I’ll go to No. 1 this week in the grass for quite some time (so far? But if there’s doubt, then no. 1. Sabalenka has lost four of the last six finals. She’s played seven finals this year. And while Wimbledon title has evaded her so far, she’s been in the semifinals on each of the last two trips. She can clearly win.

Simon Cambers: This is wide open. Sabalenka deserves a favorite, but she has a tough early draw so it seems she will need some matches to hit the top form. Of course, that’s possible, but she hasn’t won here yet, so maybe someone else will come in to win her first Wimbledon.

Rivakina, one of the few former champions in a draw, is dangerous if she passes Swiatek. Gauff deserves inclusion, but we expect Madison Keys to do another big run. Her Australian Open victory lifts weight off her shoulders and she has a great game for grass with big serves and powerful ground strokes. She’s in the same quarter as Sabalenka, but I can see her going all the way again.

Who do you think will win the men’s singles title?

Schreiber: On the boys side, Alcaraz is popular for completing Wimbledon hat tricks. His athletic abilities, especially his extraordinary movements at the Grass Court – his strength, skillful touch and even more powerful serves made him a great young meadow at just 22 years old. If Alcaraz serves the way he did when he beat Queen’s Club, he wins third Wimbledon in a row.

main: I want to say Djokovic, and I’m sitting here typing up and deleting my various explanations of how and why he can do it. history! He loves tournaments! He’s amazing on the grass! He has so many motivations and all the reasons why he wants to win!

2025 Women’s Wimbledon Odds

But alas, I’m still not entirely sure of myself that he can beat Alkaraz if we meet again in the finals. At this point, we’ve seen what Alcaraz can do with the All England Club over the past two years. Plus, along with his epic final against Sinner at French Open and his latest title at Queen’s Club, Alcaraz cannot be chosen. Ultimately, the 22-year-old Spaniard has secured his position as the best player of the day, winning his sixth major trophy and third straight Wimbledon at the end of two weeks.

Connelly: The sinner really closes the gap in Alkaraz on a natural surface, and he still reached the semi-finals in 2023, despite the grass being his worst surface. But I can’t get over how good Alcaraz’s draw is here. Thinner could have some matches to get into form, but in the third round, former semi-finalist Dennis Shapovalov, and perhaps fourth, either Grigor Dimitrov or Tommy Paul, either Lorenzo Musetti or Ben Shelton, offer the right chance for the upset.

When I arrive at the Alkaraz Final, another sinner, I will be seduced to choose a sinner. But Alkaraz is more likely to get there.

Camber: You cannot choose anyone other than Alkaraz. He has won the title in the last two years and if he makes it three he did something John McEnroe and Boris Becker never managed. His form is there, he got the match on the grass in Queens, which he needed, and won the title – and he must be fresh enough to actually go with it again. The sinner has to overcome the spiritual scars of Paris, Djokovic will have to beat too many top players to win it, and Jack Draper has a game to win Wimbledon, but perhaps this year will be too early.

Betting Tips

Odds at the time of publication. For the latest women’s tournament And the men’s tournament Visit ESPN bets.

Who is choosing your woman to win?

Pamela Maldonado: Sabalenka +240. If you like it, this is not a cruise control draw. However, if Sabalenka works well and stays calm, she has the firepower to bulldoze throughout this section. The key is to survive that round three trap. As she passes Marketa Vondrousova, her confidence could potentially be snowballed all the way to the finals.

Other sense of smell: American (+275). Gauff (+750) has the fourth best odds to win Wimbledon. She’s fresh since winning her second career Grand Slam single title at this year’s French Open. Keys (+1200) has the fifth best odds, 11-1 in the majors this season, and has the highest record among active players in Grass, including an Australian Open victory (50-18). Pegula (+2000) played the final at the US Open last year, and was a good grass court player (12-6 record, 66.7 wins since 2023), beating Swiatek in the final to win the Grass Court Bad Homburg Open. And four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka has always been a wild card and fits the Wimbledon Champions outline style in recent years.

Who is chosen to win by your man?

Maldonado: Alcaraz +120. Alcaraz has the charm of cupcakes in the final. There is no opponent with foot speed, mental durability, and grass diversity to seriously annoy Alcaraz in 5 sets. What’s the worst case scenario? Set dropped from a miescist or loose tiebreak. The test is in the final, probably against the sinner or Djokovic. Alcaraz reaching the final is a bet I will hammer if the book posts that market.

Smell: Alkaraz (+120). Alcaraz was invincible in the grass of three seasons, moving 25-1 with four titles, including each of the last two Wimbledon Championships. Alcaraz won Grass again earlier this month, making his second Queens Club Championship at the ATP 500 level. And Alkaraz has an advantage over the players at the second and third odds. Thinner is the top seed, but Alcaraz has won all five head-to-head matches since 2023 and all eight of the 12 matches. Alkaraz defeated Djokovic in each of the last two Wimbledon finals.

What is your favorite bet on the women’s side?

Maldonado: Both Emma Radukanu and Sabalenka won in round 1 (-105) in straight sets. Raducanu doesn’t have to blow Mingge Xu to win in straight sets. Xu can compete, but Raducanu’s return game and baseline consistency should beat her over time. Sabalenka’s first round opponent, Carson Branstine, lacks the pace that plagues her rhythm. It’s hard to see more than a handful of games on the board.

Smell: Win from Iga Swiatek (+650). Names like Rybakina (+550 to Win), Andreeva (+1600) and Jasmine Paolini (+2800) are also on my radar, but for some reason Swiatek is attracting my attention. After spending much of the past few years as a top tennis player, Swiatek has been flying under the radar this season. She hasn’t won the tournament at the rating she had previously, but Swiatek has played very good tennis this season. She played semi-finals in both Grand Slams and reached the final of last week’s Bad Homburg Open.

What is your favorite bet on the boys?

Maldonado: Roberto Bautista Agutt (-120) over Cameron Nolly in the first round. This is about discipline and trust in herbivorous experience. The RBA’s flat ground stroke is low and fits the surface, but Nolly’s Loopy forehand and Passively tolerance didn’t look sharp in 2025.

Smell: jjokovic to win (+600). Djokovic gave hints that this could be his last season on tour. Outside of the Australian Open, where Djokovic won 10 of his record 24 grand slam titles, Wimbledon’s grass was his best surface. Djokovic won seven Wimbledon crowns, including four of the last six. His only two losses at the All-England club since 2018 came in the last two finals against Alcaraz. With this draw, Djokovic would not see Alkaraz until the final, and he did not face the sinner until the semi-finals. It’s a high job to ask anyone to pass both the sinner and the Alkaraz major, but if anyone could, it would be Djokovic.

What is your favorite long shot bet to win a women’s title?

Maldonado: Jessica Pegra +2000. She was underrated with a clean early draw and had no top ten opponents until the quarter. Her consistency and court smart match well with Mira Andreva and Gouf, both of which can burst under pressure. If Pegula makes the final, she’s already beating the odds and has the tools to frustrate big hitters like Sabalenka.

Smell: Vondrousova +2000. Vondrousova is the most dangerous minor player in the tournament. She missed a massive time in 2023 due to an injury, dropped out of the rankings completely, and after trying to do the same this season, she won Wimbledon. Vondrousova missed most of the last year due to hand and shoulder injuries, but she returned to the French Open and won her first tournament at the Berlin Open since 2023 earlier this month. That tournament was also played in Grass, with Vondrousova defeating 2024 Australian Open Champion Madison Keys, and two-time Wimbledon finalists Ons Jabeur and Sabalenka respectively.

What is your favorite longshot bet to win a male title?

Maldonado: Djokovic +600. Jjoker is the most dangerous type of long shot. It is a type with seven Wimbledon titles and a tip on the shoulder. The sinner may be the top seed, but after Roland Garros’ heartbreaking defeat to Alkaraz, a recent coaching shakeup and a Halle Open exit to Alexander Bublik, he is not the lock to make the finals. If Djokovic passes the sinner, or if the sinner falls early, Djokovic could face Alkaraz in the final. And after five sets of clashes in 2023 and a phenomenal defeat to Alcaraz at Wimbledon in 2024, this appears to be Novak’s revenge tour on the surface he still owns.

Smell: Any American (+1800). Taylor Fritz is the No. 5 most seeded American, with his semi-final top seeded by No. 3 Alexander Zverev, who was defeated last year at Wimbledon and the US Open. Fritz reached the final of the US Open last season, already winning the title this season, losing the Stuttgart Open last week. Given his size, his big serve and amazing mobility often serves Fritz on the grass.

Also, take a look at 10 seed Ben Shelton. He has a huge serve that supported the semifinals of both hard court majors (2023 US Open, 2025 Australian Open). He performed last year’s fourth round of Wimbledon at his second event. Tommy Paul, the 13th seed, made his quarterfinals in three of his final four majors, including last year’s Wimbledon. Francis Tiapho (12th species), Brandon Nakashima (29th), and Alex Michaelsen (30th) are other sowed Americans. Tiafoe and Nakashima both won the fourth round at Wimbledon. Michaelsen is only 20 years old and has only played at one Wimbledon and lost in the first round, but he has already played the finals in two grass court tournaments in his younger career.

One of the above is a long shot to win, but with this bet you can take a flyer on all of them. I also like other special people, Americans, to play the finals (+700).
