Irvine, Scotland – Lottie Waard scored four birdies on six holes stretches around the turn, posting a 5-under 67 on Saturday, maintaining a two-shot lead at the women’s Scotland open with a victory in his professional debut.

Woad has control over the game on Dundonald Links, so he went to 33 consecutive holes without bogeys until he dropped his shot on the 15th.

Her lead was a one shot, but the 21-year-old from England responded with a short wedge that played perfectly on the 17th, leaving her with an 8-foot birdie putt that she converted. The final par made her 17 under 199.

Danish’s Nanna Korsz Madsen caught Oud early on the par-5 third hole, and was delayed after Wood’s birdie streak. However, Dane came together with three straight birdies and a few par saves for 67.

She made the 14th longest eagle putt in two shots along with Say Young Kim (66), reaching two shots for a birdie on the par-5 closing hole.

Nelly Korda played bogey-free, but the Americans managed two birdies on another relatively mild day by Scottish standards. Her 70 left five shots behind Woad, who had already had a golden summer in Europe.

Woad, who won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2024 and rose to number one in the women’s amateur rankings that year, won the Women’s Open in the Women’s Europe Tour three weeks ago.

She then missed the playoffs on one shot at the Evian Championship. However, her tie, third in the LPGA major, won her a tour card, and she decided to skip her fourth grade at Florida and Turn Pro. Now she has a chance to win on her debut.

“That’s what we aim to keep shooting as low as possible and giving us opportunities,” Woad said. “If someone shoots the light, it’s fair enough. I’m excited about the opportunity. I have experience and I’ll try to use it.”

Kim has 12 titles on the LPGA Tour, including the 2020 Women’s PGA Championship at Aroni Mink, but she has appeared for five years since her last victory. She will be joining the final group on Sunday with Woad and Madsen.

Korda, on the other hand, has many grounds to make up for it if he wants to end the incredible drought. She won the LPGA seven times last season, but has yet to win this year.

“I probably wasn’t hitting it that was as good as the first two days,” Korda said. “I made some really good par saves and didn’t really capitalize some of my good shots. But it’s golf. That’s fine. I still have tomorrow.”

Woad tries to match Rose Zhang by winning the LPGA Tour with his professional debut. Chang did it at Liberty National at the Mizuho America Open two years ago.

The Women’s Scotland Open is jointly approved by the LPGA and LET.
