Due to a lack of production by kit manufacturer Castore, Red Roses fans were unable to purchase team shirts before the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
The shortage has made the RFU irritated, sources told ESPN. One of Sunderland’s England supporters described the shortage as “disgrace” as fans were unable to purchase the latest replica shirts that Red Rose would wear for the World Cup campaign.
Red roses are a favorite to lift home soil trophies, and demand quickly saw the supply of online stores empty. Some shirts are currently looking for a significantly increased price on eBay.
British brand Catley said in a statement: “The official England Rugby World Cup shirts continue to show amazing support for the Red Rose, so we can see that they are currently lacking.

It is understood that Casto made a mistake when ordering shirts, and the shift to increase orders would have increased beyond the World Cup.

Supporters can purchase shirts at venues such as Hikari Stadium, but it is understood that supply is limited.
Castore became the kit maker for the England team in April as he took over the role from Umbro. The regular Red Rose shirt with O2 sponsorship is available for purchase online, but the Rugby World Cup Special Edition is sold out.
Tournament-regulated state teams cannot have their own sponsorship on the front of the kit, so the shirts that the team will wear in the coming weeks will not be sponsored, but the World Cup crest is on the front of the shirt.
